praise for IN THE ARENA

Robert Diaso
USNA Class of 1962

The journey through plebe year, as all of us who have taken that journey are aware, is one of self-awareness. The combination of physical and mental stress requires you to go deep down to find the reserve to keep on going. This book takes you through that experience through the eyes and emotions of a young woman looking back on her own voyage. It is a story of discovery as well as a navigation through the Yard of USNA.

Senior Chief Edna McKenna,
USN, Ret.

Five Stars! It was superb! It relates to both military and civilians with honor and commitment, but most of all faith. This book is absorbing and hard to put down- full of captivating personal anecdotes from the inside of the first year at the Naval Academy.

Mary Neder

I like the way the author uses her nephew as a ribbon, winding thru the Naval Academy and remembering back to her days as a plebe. She adds humor and gives actual facts about the Naval Academy and the Navy, that I never knew. I know several Naval Officers and they said this was a great book about what it is really like to be a plebe at the Naval Academy. This would be a great book for any high school kids that are thinking about attending USNA.
